At a total distance of 3,000 kilometres / 1,860 miles from Cape Reinga in the north to Bluff in the south, The Long Pathway (Te Araroa) is one of the newest and wildest thru hikes in the world.
Although marketed primarily as a section hike by the Te Araroa Trust (the organisation which manages the trail), Te Araroa’s greatest appeal is as a continuous long distance hiking trail which runs the entire length of New Zealand.
